Angela Yeung Wing (born February 28, 1989), popularly known by her stage name Angelababy, is a model and actress from Hong Kong. Her stage name came from the combination of her legal given name "Angela" and her nickname her family gave her "Baby". She was born in Shanghai to a Chinese mother and half-Chinese/half-German father, and moved to Hong Kong at the age of 13.
Angelababy was born on February 28, 1989 in Shanghai, China. Her chinese name is Yang Ying (杨颖). Her family moved to Hong Kong when she turned 13. Angelababy is a quarter german with her grandfather being full german, her grandmother chinese, and both her parents chinese. She started modeling for her local beauty salon when she was only 14. She didn't start professional modeling until she was 17.
Angelababy had movie star dreams ever since she was a young child. But because she wore braces when she first started modeling, her face was not appealing enough, so she had no luck at being a cover girl. She decided to choose a market that was still not developed in the Chinese modeling industry, the Kawaii market. She finally rid her braces at 17, dyed her hair light brown, and wore colored circle lenses. Her final look was similar to the manga character girl that was so popular in Japan. Her new look caught the attention of Style International Inc. and begined her professional modeling career.
Angelababy's career began when she was spotted by Style International Inc. at the age of 17 and entered the modeling industry that year (2007). She then featured as a dancer in Jay Chou's 《07-08世界巡迴演唱會香港站》 concert in Hong Kong.
Her reputation rose rapidly in Asia. She became the hostess of the show, Viva Cub Disney in 2003. Also during 2003, she joined the Hong Kong modeling group, Talent Bang. She also created the modern clothes brand, CHOICE, with fellow model friend, Janice Man in 2008. Because of CHOICE, she received Dong TOUCH award for best stylist and clothes designer.

She then replaced Namie Amuro for spokesperson for the hair styling company, VS. Her net worth then rose over millions. Because of her love relationship with Chinese actor, Huang Xiaoming, her repuation, fame, and popoularity rose even more then ever.
Other than her movies, Angelababy has featured in a large number of catwalk appearances, television shows and commercials throughout Asia. She also acted in a music video of William Chan. Also, she provides the voice of Rapunzel in the Mandarin dubbed version of Tangled.
